It is big, but it just ain’t clever!
When you’ve got up on a Sunday morning and painted a wall of your living room, what do you need for lunch (breakfast in D’s case)? Fried stuff!!
The following Saturday, when you’ve done much the same with a second wall? Head off to the lovely Roseleaf with fab friends and have The Leafer for lunch, a glorious vegetarian cooked breakfast (but for good measure, topped with a slice of black pudding!) with a pint of guest ale Golden Hare (from Bath Ales, how appropriate).
The potato scones in the shot above were made with the previous night’s mustard mash. Sadly the mustard was not discernible in the potato scones, I’d rather hoped it might have been.

Before the accusations of being a total fatty pie start, I should just like to point out that the above plate was shared between Dougal and me. And that we did not finish the potato scones. And that we had just hefted furniture and painted a wall. And that I had already biked across to Southside and back. Don’t judge me!
Wouldn’t dream of judging you, AND I have seen your tummy, and very trim it would seem to be, so keep eating those tattie scones… Must be all that biking.
Potato scones with built-in mustard could have been rather foxy. Sorry that the mustard was non-evident… was it grainy mustard?
It was grainy but it was non-evident. It had been fairly subtle in the mash too, though, so I expect that’s why. I’d just thought perhaps it would have increased in potency what with its overnight sit. Perhaps next time I’ll throw an extra spoonful in at the scone-ing stage!
